I am a thirty something wife, mom of two E’s, adoptive mom to a furry Leo, nurse, and natural light photographer. I love Jesus, coffee, chocolate, hand written cards, and finding the perfect gift. I am an introvert, wear my heart on my sleeve, and have a messy house. I shoot with my Nikon D700, prime lenses, my Fuji x100t, and my iPhone. Welcome to my little space on the interwebs.
I like stories, so this is mine.
Shortly after the birth of my second child I decided to start a blog. Somewhere in the frenzy of nursing a new baby and potty training a toddler I discovered that I would never be able to keep up with baby books, scrapbooks, photo books… I am a disorganized mess most of the time. But I did know that I loved taking photos and I loved to write. So that’s what I started to do. I documented our little life with my point and shoot camera and began to journal milestones and everything in between.
Several years later as my love for photography grew, I decided to develop what I thought would be just a fun little hobby. I discovered that even if I didn’t have a camera in my hand, I was always framing moments in my mind. So I purchased a DSLR, a lens, editing software. I studied, practiced, asked for advice. I took a lot of time trying to find my own voice in a photography world that seems to be growing exponentially. And while I continue on that journey of self discovery, I have learned that I love shooting real life moments that are not posed or planned. I love documenting these moments as they unfold naturally. Little moments that created a much bigger story. And I love that photography allows me to do that. Capture a story with my lens. The funny, the imperfect, the happy, the sad, the real, the raw. I primarily do it for me and my family, but through all of this I started doing it for others, too.
So that brings me here. This blog is a continuation of my previous one. It is still first and foremost a blog for me and my little family. To document, journal, and capture our story.
But it’s also a place for my little business. And that’s just what it is, little. A very part time little gig that will always remain that way. Please visit the “picture stories” tab to see more of my work.
And if you are interested in hearing more about my photography and having me document your family, please visit the “session info” tab for information and pricing.
Thank you for being here.
