pow wow

Every summer we drive down to the cousin’s house and celebrate all the birthdays together.  Then we enjoy carnival rides and cotton candy and a small town parade.  This year it was the perfect day with no rain out like in year’s past, and the kids all enjoyed the rides and gathering lots of candy at the parade.  So fun.

After the parade was over, grammie and grampie took ALL of the kids (yes, all seven of them) back to their house for VBS and Darin and I had a kid free 4 days.  D took some time off and we dated in the city… taking a walk around Lake Calhoun and having coffee at a little cafe outside, enjoying a Twins game with friends, and having supper at one of our favorite South Minneapolis restaurants.  So grateful for a few days along, and I’m pretty sure grammie and grampie were grateful to get rid of the kids when Darin went to pick them back up on Friday.  :)

Summer memories are the best.

Stirs in me gratefulness and joy for how I’ve been blessed, not only with precious grandchildren but also my “grafted in” family when my children said “I do”.
