the photos before christmas eve church…

Every year I take a few photos on Christmas Eve before church.  It’s the one time of year that Eli wears pants with buttons (after multiple bribes) and Evie wears her holiday dress (with the special shoes she always picks out) and I try to take a portrait of them in front of the Christmas tree.  As most of you know, I’m not big on portraits.  But a few times of the year I try to get a photo of my kids smiling and looking at the camera, and this is one of those times.

I get teary eyes looking at these photos.  I know they are my kids, but they are so beautiful.  And I love them so much.  (Chalkboard artwork by Evie, of-course.)

After these photos we went to church.  They sat with us.  Evie snuggled next to Darin the entire service and my sweet Eli stood on his chair next to me as Silent Night played and sang it in my ear while more tears flowed from my eyes.  I always get extra emotional this time of year.  So very blessed.

georgia - completely easy to see why your adorable kids got chosen for those ads your photo was in. can i just say, i hope isaac’s hair turns out like eli’s? ’cause i totally love that hair cut he is sportin’. and their chalk drawings are too precious. baby jesus in the manger iscracking me up.

Heather - Adore these photos! So precious! And my boy totally gets the button pants thing. ;)

michelle - These kinds of pictures will mean even more to you as your kids get older. Being able to pull out year after year of pics in front of the tree wearing their fancy clothes will be so fun as the years tick by. :)

Love these. And the comment about Eli wearing pants with buttons totally made me laugh. ;P

Tracey - They really need to stop growing! What a fun tradition. :) And yay for button pants E!

Andrea - Such cute kiddos! I missed seeing a holiday card this year. You must not have sent them. I didn’t last year. Happy new year Stacey. Wishing you all the best.
