Every year I take a few photos on Christmas Eve before church. It’s the one time of year that Eli wears pants with buttons (after multiple bribes) and Evie wears her holiday dress (with the special shoes she always picks out) and I try to take a portrait of them in front of the Christmas tree. As most of you know, I’m not big on portraits. But a few times of the year I try to get a photo of my kids smiling and looking at the camera, and this is one of those times.
I get teary eyes looking at these photos. I know they are my kids, but they are so beautiful. And I love them so much. (Chalkboard artwork by Evie, of-course.)
After these photos we went to church. They sat with us. Evie snuggled next to Darin the entire service and my sweet Eli stood on his chair next to me as Silent Night played and sang it in my ear while more tears flowed from my eyes. I always get extra emotional this time of year. So very blessed.
